Born in California and raised in Ohio, Moriah Betterly discovered her passion for creating very early in life. Whether she was crafting with her grandmother, turning a box into a fabulous playhouse or making figures in clay, Moriah was always creating something.
In 2006 Moriah decided to dedicate her time to her art. She started with ceramics then moved onto art dolls. From there she discovered dollhouse miniatures and focused 2 years solely on creating tiny little works while making a name for herself on eBay with various miniature collectors. She dabbled in painting and collage but nothing seemed to bring her the joy that Art Dolls did.
In 2009, Moriah turned her focus back to her first love, Art Dolls, and that’s where it has stayed. Working primarily in paper and polymer clays, Moriah’s dolls have a whimiscal feel and they steal the hearts of all who meet them.
Moriah Betterly lives in Florida with her wonderful husband and three beautiful children. She is a full-time artist/dollmaker and instructor.
