The first in my Primitive Miniature Halloween dolls is Finished!

As I mentioned yesterday, i am working on a series of primitive or “vintage” halloween dolls for dollhouse dolls. The first in the series is now complete!

Introducing Pumpkinhead!!

He has been handsculpted in paperclay and then painted to give him that vintage look. He is jointed and stands 2.25 inches tall or is 1.25 inches tall in his seated position. I’m so excited about this series and am working hard on the rest of them. Check back for more pics!

I've Been So Busy...

Hello everyone! I haven’t be able to blog for awhile as I have been so busy. With the web design changes, keeping up with all of the various groups I belong to and creating, I just don’t seem to have enough hours in the day! Anyway, I have completed a few projects since my last post and have started a bunch more that are all in various stages of completion. I’m really quite exhausted, lol.

Meet Sniggles the Baby Dragon! Sniggles’ job is to keep us happy and smiling in the studio and he does his job very well!! He watches over us and makes us giggle. He was sculpted completely of polymer clay and has inserted acrylic eyes.

Sniggles also has a little friend that has joined him in the studio. Meet Hippy the Hippo! Hippy was sculpted entirely of polymer clay and has hand painted eyes. Sniggles and Hippy are the best of friends and love to frollic around the studio together playing with their pet butterflies!

Hippy the Hippo

I recently made a sold some polymer sculpted miniature dollhouse toys on eBay. The lady who bought them stated that she was working on a Santa’s Toy shop and thought they would be perfect for the scene! She promises to send photos of the finished piece when it’s complete. If she does, I’ll post them here.

And finally….. the last of the completed projects, a botanical Wizard Scroll in 1:12 scale for the dollhouse. This scroll was aged to look old and can be displayed open or rolled up. I also added tiny little copper leaf charms to the handles.

WHEW!

Now for the works in progress…….

I am working on yet another gypsy table setting in 1:12 scale, it’s very close to being finished, just need to make a few more goodies for the top of the table and reupholster the chairs.

I’m also working on a primitive Art Doll project in a Halloween theme. I’m very excited about this project as it has been sooooo long since I made an art doll! It will actually be 3 dolls in one and is made of paperclay. Check back soon for the completed project pics!

I have a Witch’s Cabinet for the dollhouse in the works as well. Just finishing up making all of the spooky little accessories that fill the cabinet. It’s about 50% completed.

I am putting the finishing touches on a primitive Pumpkinhead doll for the dollhouse. He is a doll’s doll, or can be used as decor. There will be a whole line of these in the next day or so.

I am also working on more gypsy accessory sets for the dollhouse! The tarot cards are finished, working on the ouija boards and crystal balls now.

Good grief! So many projects in the works! I’ll post pics of them as I finish them, so keep checking back!

I decided to break into mini food!

I have been eyeballing mini food for some time now. I have so much polymer clay and thought food would be the answer. I looked at some of the mini food artisans out there and man was I intimidated! Good grief, they make everything look so real!

I ordered Angie Scarr’s book and downloaded a bunch of tutorials on the net. After flipping through everything, I decided to start with potatoes. Here’s what the outcome was:
